The Baron Beamends and his young daughter Cinderella are still mourning the loss of their beautiful, gentle wife and mother. However, because the Baron loves his people he has never collected the tributes and taxes to which he was entitled. For this reason he finds himself not only a sad widower but extremely impoverished as well. Desperate to keep a roof over Cinderella's and his own heads he gives in to the demands of a widow from a neighbouring area who is equally desperate to marry into a title to obtain some sort of repectability for herself and her two ghastly daughters. In return she promises to bring with her a substantial dowry which will cure the financial ills besetting the Baron and his people. As the marriage is to be one in name only, the besieged Baron agrees in desperation, and the horror begins!Spendthrifts as they are, Lucretia, Nausea and Hernia have frittered away most of what money they had before they get to Beamends Castle. Far from improving his situation the Baron finds himself further in debt, and his totally spoilt new family treats everyone, including himself and Cinderella, as inferior servants. However, by the magic of pantomime, good will out! Due entirely to her goodness of heart Cinderella wins the affection of a Fairy Godmother, and through her magic is invited to a Ball at the Royal Palace where she meets the Prince of her dreams. The rest, as they say, is history! On the way to an unexpected twist at the end, which rids the Baron of his vile new wife and step-daughters, we meet the totally incompetent Palace Guard, newly recruited from the local Karate Club, an equally incompetent band of would-be villains and thieves, who fight it out in a most novel way! Also we will be introduced to the family ghost and a Gorrilla!
We hope that there is something for everyone. Whatever happens.....just ENJOY!!!
